The Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) and the Zimbabwe Heads of Christian Denominations (ZHCD) have joined forces to participate in the National Development Strategy (NDS) 2 Roadmap and National Priorities Meeting, organized by the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC). This significant engagement underscores the Church's commitment to contributing to the country's development agenda for the period 2026 to 2030.
During this crucial meeting, the Church will make meaningful inputs and submissions to ensure that the next development strategy aligns with the nation's values and priorities. Beyond this gathering, the ZCC and ZHCD will also be actively involved in the various Working Groups on NDS2, providing comprehensive and informed contributions to shape the country's future.
This collaborative effort between the Church and the government highlights the importance of stakeholder engagement in national development planning. By working together, the Church and the government can harness their collective expertise and resources to drive sustainable development and improve the lives of Zimbabweans.
The Church's participation in the NDS2 process is a testament to its commitment to promoting the well-being of all citizens, particularly the most vulnerable members of society. Through this engagement, the Church aims to ensure that the next development strategy prioritizes the needs of the poor, the marginalized, and the excluded.
As Zimbabwe embarks on this new development journey, the Church's contributions will undoubtedly play a vital role in shaping a brighter future for the nation. By working together, we can build a more just, equitable, and prosperous society for all Zimbabweans.
