Chitungwiza – The Union for the Development of Apostolic Churches in Zimbabwe Africa (UDACIZA), in partnership with the Love Zimbabwe Festival, successfully hosted a free eyeglass clinic from September 22 to 25 at Unit L Community Hall in Chitungwiza.

The outreach program drew thousands of residents, with more than 2,500 individuals receiving free reading glasses. Organizers said the initiative was aimed at improving not only vision but also the overall quality of life for community members who could not afford eye care services.

UDACIZA officials described the event as a major success. “This program has restored sight and confidence to many people who have struggled with poor vision for years,” said one organizer. “We are grateful to our partners who made this possible.”

The event blended physical and spiritual support, featuring uplifting gospel preaching from bishops and pastors who encouraged attendees to find strength and hope through faith. “We believe in serving both the body and the spirit,” one pastor said. “True healing comes when people are cared for holistically.”

The outreach was supported by several partner organizations, including the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe (EFZ), the Zimbabwe Association of Church-Related Hospitals (ZACH), the Zimbabwe Network of Early Childhood Development Actors (ZINECDA), Trocaire, UNFPA Zimbabwe, and the Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC).

The partners commended the initiative for demonstrating how faith-based organizations can play a vital role in promoting community health and well-being.
