“For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.” (Job 22:26-29)
Say to yourself now, “I take back my lost glory; Satan you are a liar”.
Naturally, many people usually look down when there is a casting down. Occurrences that result in casting down are always precipitated by situations that represent a downward turn in fortunes.
However, when you summon up the courage to stir up your belief in the unfailing Word of God, then a lifting up is provoked in your spirit.
In Luke 21:28a, Jesus says, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
He was referring to situations that cast one down such as adversities, misfortunes, and problems.
Jesus cautions in the same Luke 21:28 that when such things begin to happen, first, you should ‘look up’, then ‘lift up your head’.
Because all those around you are already cast down by the challenges and problems of life and are looking down. You must make the difference by lifting up your head and looking up.
Jesus concludes that verse by saying that when you look up and lift up your head, then is your redemption nearer you. When you bow your head because of your condition, you cannot see your redemption.
The key to understanding Luke 21:28, quoted above, is the word redemption, which simply means ‘buying back’.
There are things you can buy back and there are ways you can buy them back. For example, you can buy back a house and a car with money. But you can’t buy your life with money.
Prayer/Confession: Father, please restore my lost glory in Jesus name. Amen!
Words of Wisdom: You can buy back a shop taken away from you after negotiation; but you cannot buy back your glory with money.
