“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Matthew 5:38–39 (KJV)
The Kingdom of God is far better and lovely than the kingdom of this present world.
The worldly kingdom believes so strongly in revenge because it appears to satisfy the emotions of the victim, but it has no eternal blessings. In the Kingdom of God, vengeance is not allowed because vengeance is the LORD’s (Hebrews 10:30–31).
Forgiveness has present and eternal blessings, hence the children of God should choose forgiveness over vengeance. It is painful when you are hurt by someone, but you have the power to forgive. When you exercise the power to forgive those who hurt you, it opens doors in the spirit for God to bless and keep promoting you.
Be bold to let those who hurt you know that they have hurt you, forgive them, and ask the Lord to take the pain away. Remember that you are not infallible and you can also hurt someone. Apply the golden rule, and be blessed (Matthew 7:12). Hallelujah! God Bless You!
