The Methodist Church in Zimbabwe is mourning the passing of Revd J. T. Mugozhi, a devoted servant of God who died on Wednesday morning at Mahusekwa Hospital.
In a death notice issued on 10 December 2025, the church announced the loss with deep sorrow, describing the moment as one of profound grief for the entire faith community.
“A dark cloud has befallen us,” the statement read. “It is with deep sorrow that we inform the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe community of the passing on of Revd J. T. Mugozhi, a devoted servant of God.”
According to the notice, Revd Mugozhi “entered into eternal rest this morning, 10 December 2025 at Mahusekwa hospital,” bringing to an end a life dedicated to ministry and service within the church.
The General Secretary of the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe, Revd L. Molife, called on congregants and the wider community to stand together in prayer during this difficult time.
“As we mourn one of our illustrious ministers, let us pray with amai Mugozhi, children, the family and the church at large,” the statement said.
Funeral service details will be communicated at a later date, the church added.
