DAILY DEVOTION MCZ MISSION DEPARTMENT
Mark 3:2,4
[2]So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.[4]Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.
In the days when Christ walked the earth, Scribes, Pharisees and priests who knew the law of God and were charged with upholding uprightness in society were working against goodness. They are the ones who should have been quick to believe Jesus but they were detractors. Even today, the enemies of the cross are found among those we expect to rise up in favour of the kingdom mandate.
We must not be amazed by this because we were already warned to be wary of the deceptive nature of the devil and his wiles against the body of Christ.
If it happened to Jesus, it should happen in our day. Do not lose heart in doing good at an acceptable or unacceptable time. The gospel must be preached in the presence of stumbling blocks. Persevere in the work of God because perseverance molds a Christ like character and character creates hope. Without enemies both foreign & domestic, the power of God cannot be seen or proved.
Prayer - You prepare a table before my enemies and my cup runs over. Thank you Lord for keeping me safe even while enemies of the cross rise up against me. Amen
