A deep sense of sorrow has gripped the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) of Zimbabwe following the sudden passing of both Sekuru and Ambuya Mapingure on the same night — a heartbreaking double tragedy that has left the church community in mourning.
According to a statement issued by Rev. Dr. N. Nhira, the General Secretary of AFM in Zimbabwe, the tragedy occurred late in the evening when Sekuru Mapingure, father to Overseer Mapingure, suddenly collapsed around 9 p.m.
“He was rushed to Wedza Hospital where he was sadly declared dead on arrival,” Rev. Nhira said.
In a shocking turn of events, Ambuya Mapingure, upon receiving the devastating news of her husband’s death, reportedly went into shock and also passed away shortly afterward.
“Upon hearing this, Ambuya Mapingure also went into a shock state and passed on,” Rev. Nhira confirmed.
The AFM church and the wider community have expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.
“We mourn together with our colleague and the entire Mapingure family. May they be comforted in the Lord,” Rev. Nhira said, urging members to continue praying for the family during this painful time.
Further details regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated by the Provincial Secretariat, according to the statement.
“May their souls rest in perfect peace,” Rev. Nhira added solemnly.
