Anglican Bishop Dedicates New Classroom Block at Zambezi Primary School in Gokwe

The Anglican Diocese of Central Zimbabwe has taken another significant step in improving education infrastructure after the Bishop dedicated a newly constructed classroom block at Zambezi Primary School in Gokwe last week.

Speaking during the dedication ceremony, the Bishop said the new block was dedicated “to the Glory of God,” emphasizing the Church’s commitment to supporting education and community development.

Zambezi Primary School, which falls under the Church of the Province of Central Africa (CPCA), has been steadily improving both in infrastructure and academic performance. The new classroom block is expected to ease overcrowding and provide a more conducive learning environment for pupils.

Church officials and local education authorities attended the event, where they commended the school’s leadership for its commitment to excellence.

“We are grateful for the vision and leadership of Mr. Ndhlovu and the entire staff,” said one diocesan representative. “Their dedication continues to raise the standard of education and reflect the values of faith, service, and stewardship.”

The Bishop encouraged the school community to continue working together in faith and unity, adding that education remains a vital part of the Church’s mission to empower communities.

“This classroom block is not just a building—it is a symbol of hope, faith, and the future of our children,” he said.

Zambezi Primary’s ongoing improvements demonstrate the Diocese’s broader goal of combining spiritual growth with tangible development in local communities across the Midlands province.
