Seke East RCZ Youths Extend Love to Elderly at Bumhudzo Home

By A Correspondent

Youth from the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe (RCZ) Seke East congregation visited Bumhudzo Old People’s Home on Sunday, in a heartwarming initiative aimed at fostering intergenerational bonds and promoting compassion through acts of giving.

During the visit, the young people handed over groceries they had mobilized for the elderly residents—an expression of care and solidarity with the often-forgotten members of society.

The group was taken on a tour of the Salvation Army-run facility by Major (Mrs) Marere, who also shared valuable life lessons, encouraging the youths to embrace humility, service, and empathy as lifelong values.

Accompanying the group were spiritual and youth advisors including Rev. Joseph Zindoga, Mr. Best, Mrs. Mugida, and Mrs. Madanire, all of whom applauded the initiative and encouraged continued acts of community engagement.

"This kind gesture is deeply appreciated, especially coming from this generation of young people. It reflects a commitment to building a caring and united society,” said one of the home’s administrators.

Seke East youths were hailed as true "Children of Progress from the Center of Progress" for their efforts in spreading love and hope.

The group pledged to continue supporting similar initiatives, affirming their commitment to excellence and meaningful service.
