Hebrews 11:10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
The bible tells us that Abraham was obedient to God and came out of his country and kindred to a place he did not know. Even though he faced challenges, he was not swayed from his obedience to God because of the state of his heart.
When we are sold out completely to God, trials and tribulations do not move us away from following God. Abraham's focus was on obtaining a greater inheritance than this earth could offer. When our hearts are on the things of heaven, earthly squabbles do not matter.
Yes we should plan our lives here on earth but the ultimate goal is to make heaven our eternal home. Our conduct therefore must be conformed to the heavenly things. When men hate and persecute us, we must be strengthened by the knowledge that our God has prepared for us a better inheritance where no moth or mold will spoil it.
Prayer
I focus on You my God and refuse to allow my heart to cling to earthly inheritance that does not last, Amen.
