"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles." – Isaiah 40:31
These powerful words from the Bible serve as a beacon of hope for young people who are vulnerable to risky migration. In response to this pressing issue, a comprehensive initiative has been launched to provide a holistic approach to tackling the root causes of desperation that drive youth to flee.
The launch marks the beginning of a journey to reduce risky migration among young people. Through a multi-faceted approach, the initiative aims to address the complex issues that push youth into unsafe migration. The program consists of three key components:
- The Multi-Disciplinary Expert Facility (MDEF) provides psycho-social support, legal aid, and counseling through church-led professional networks.
- The Schools Social Work Program addresses vulnerabilities such as drug abuse, bullying, and early pregnancies that contribute to unsafe migration.
- Economic Empowerment Programs offer vocational training, start-up packs, and financial literacy to create sustainable livelihoods.
This initiative would not have been possible without the generous support of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg. The organization extends its deepest gratitude to its funding partner for making this vital work possible.
To achieve the goal of reducing risky migration, it is essential that all stakeholders – government officials, church leaders, communities, and young people – work together. By collaborating and supporting one another, we can build a future where no youth is forced to flee in desperation.
The initiative's motto, #HopeNotFlight, serves as a rallying cry for all those involved. By providing hope and opportunities, we can empower young people to soar above desperation and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
