Double Blessing

Double Blessing

Mark 8:22-25

When Jesus passed through Bethsaida, a blind man was brought to Him, asking for healing. Jesus took him by the hand and led him out of the village. Then He placed His hands on the blind man's eyes and asked him, "Do you see anything?" (v.23) The man looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around." (v.24) Jesus repeated the action, and the man’s sight was fully restored.

My focus today is on verse 24, when the blind man responded, "I see people; they look like trees walking around." It’s important to understand that this healing wasn’t just about restoring the man's sight; it was also about giving him the knowledge to identify what he was seeing. This man, who had never seen before, was now able to recognize that what he was seeing were people and trees. Imagine this: his healing was not just physical, but also an impartation of wisdom and understanding.

Had Jesus only healed him without giving him the ability to recognize what he was seeing, people might have said, "Yes, we healed him, but we also had to teach him what he was seeing." But Jesus finished His work completely.

This is the same with God. When He blesses you, it’s not just about the blessing itself. He also gives you the wisdom and understanding to navigate it. If you receive a promotion at work, God not only blesses you with the position but also equips you with the knowledge to succeed in that new role. If you are placed in a new, unfamiliar place, don’t fear—God has already prepared someone to help you there.

God’s blessings are complete, and when He blesses you, He will not leave anything undone. He will give you the full package: the blessing and the knowledge to thrive.

He finishes what He starts. Amen.
