Light On Sunday

with Major Isaiah Motsi

WHO IS TRULY GOOD?

"Why do you call me good?" Jesus said. "Only God is truly good." (Mark 10:18)

The young man tried to sweet talk Jesus into a favourable response. But before he answered the question, Jesus asked him a question, "Why do you call me good?"

By this Jesus indicated to the young man that he had heard the question and also knew the intention but would not take any of that.

The young man's address of Jesus was coated with praise so as to both attract Jesus attention and influence his response.

Many Leaders are trapped by such coated salutations. But Jesus neither allowed himself to be diverted nor distracted to take God's glory.

"Only God is truly good."Jesus pointed the man to God, whose kingdom he had come to introduce.

This coming Easter, let no one and nothing confuse your judgement. Let God be your focus and Jesus will reflect this God even more clearly. As you try to be good, let God be the reflection of true goodness.

Only God is truly good and, we try everyday to be like him.

He calls and instructs us as to how to be truly good. There is no need to sweet talk or to buy votes, just be good. For real goodness is never hidden. Amen
