Exodus 24:1-11-Covenant ratified and sealed with blood
In the second appointment with God on Mount Sinai, Moses is directed to bring Aaron and his sons and the seventy elders of Israel that they might be witnesses of the glory of God and that communion with Him to which Moses was admitted and that their testimony might confirm the people's faith.
Before he went up with them, Moses committed them to the Lord as he built an altar and twelve pillars where burnt offerings and leave offerings were made.
As Moses sprinkled the blood, it was a token that whatever it touched became covenanted to Him whose glory is like a consuming fire.
When we come to God, we should have our Bibles, the Word of God covenanted to Him in prayer, seeking the Holy Spirit to speak to is through His Word as we covenant ourselves to hear Him speak to us.
Our altars, be it family altars or the bedside altars are to be covenanted to the Lord and to Jesus Christ. For it is the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ we must recognise to obey Him and sprinkled on us that set us free from sin.
As we come to God we must not just rely on the words of the minister to say, “All the words that the Lord hath spoken we will do”, but we must be dedicated to His Word and be sprinkled and be a covenanted people to do the will of God.
Text: "Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD your God shall send you to us. Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God" (Jeremiah 42:5-6).
All that we do should be sprinkled with the blood of Christ, cleansed with the blood of the Lamb and ratified by the blood of sacrifice so we might be sacrificed to do His will. The Apostle says, *"For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:13-14).
Exodus 24: 12-18 Manifestation of the glory of God to dedicated leaders of the covenant.
Those that have communion with God on a daily basis and dedicated to Hid service and ordinances and abide in them are blessed.
Blessed are those that dwell in His house and receive the law and instructions from the Lord to teach others of its salvific benefits, blessed are those that remain faithful to Hod and His people who will not add nor diminish but kept close to His instructions.
It is in communion with God that private sins and wants to be laid bare before His oresence and that the presence of others is sometimes helpful and even necessary.
Family worship, prayer meetings for those who have common wants, interests and needs are a condition upon which mankind may witness the God's Divine glory.
We can not do the work of God alone, we need Aarons, the people of experience, we need the Eliazer, Nadad and Abihus, the people of training in experience and we need the Joshuas, our personal assistance to help us accomplish the work. No man is an island, no man can accomplish the work of God alone, all need one another and never to be little others and get yourself as a champion of accomplishment.
To walk with God is the best recommendation we ever need when we need an assistant or a helper.
Spiritual endowment is always the measure of success in work for Christ and so many preachers fail and so many teachers fail because they are so little on the mount of prayer and communion with God.
Text: "All power and authority is given to me in heaven and in earth. Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you: and, see, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen"(Matthew 28:18-20).
The want of Christian workers everywhere is revelation of the Divine glory for from this, power springs. God can use us only as we become equipped by His vision as we are in communion with Him. We can tell only as we know and we know only as we are taught of God. Consider, have I been on the mount, under the cloud with God? Have I seen the glory and heard the voice of God, or am I acting according to His revealed will, what is His message to me, what is His message to His people?
The Psalmist says, "God has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs to God" (Psalm 62:11)
Appeal
God, even our God, is a consuming fire and so He was pleased to manifest Himself in the giving of the law of commandments that knowing the terrors of the Lord, we may be persuaded to obey and be prepared for the comforts of the gospel, so that the grace and truth which come by Jesus Christ may be the more acceptable to us.
The Wiseman says, "To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice" (Proverbs 21:3) Amen!!!
