Showers of blessings
Acts 12:18-19
By Reverend N Murambadoro
"Now when day came, there was no little disturbance among the soldiers over what had become of Peter. And after Herod searched for him and did not find him, he examined the sentries and ordered that they should be put to death. Then Peter went down from Judea to Caesarea and spent time there."
The miraculous escape of Peter caused big problems for the soldiers.
It also proved Herod a failure. Well, Herod as the enemy of True Worship of GOD did not simply accept his failure and defeat.
We see in verse 19 that Herod pursued Peter, he was searching for him everywhere. After failing again, he killed his soldiers. It appears, he was accusing them of releasing Peter.
On the other side, Peter ran away with his life. He did not remain in the same place where he wanted to be killed.
This Scripture taught me a number of things.
Firstly, when you go against the will of GOD, you lose the battle.
Secondly, GOD is able to save you in any situation.
Thirdly, the enemy does not give up easily, he keeps of pursuing, trying to destroy your life. Fourthly, there are people suffering injustice like soldiers for things they have no control over.
Lastly, we need not be ignorant of the enemy, we need to run with our lives. Amen.
