Holy Spirit Baptism

Reverend N Murambadoro

showers of blessings

 Acts 10:44-48

"While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all who were listening to the message. And the believers from among the circumcised [the Jews] who came with Peter were surprised and amazed, because the free gift of the Holy Spirit had been bestowed and poured out largely even on the Gentiles. For they heard them talking in [unknown] tongues (languages) and extolling and magnifying God.

Then Peter asked, Can anyone forbid or refuse water for baptizing these people, seeing that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? And he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (the Messiah). Then they begged him to stay on there for some days."

Descending down of the HOLY SPIRIT upon Gentiles was a fulfillment that GOD does not show partiality in HIS Kingdom.

Jews and non-Jews are equally the same before GOD. The same measure of Spiritual Blessings on Jews were also granted to Gentiles.

What was witnessed in Acts 2 in Jerusalem happened to the Gentiles too. This event surprised the Jews who were Peter's armour bearers.

Then Peter ordered that they be baptized immediately with water because the had been baptized by the HOLY SPIRIT.

Over the years of my Christian walk I have also come to the realization that when people have received HOLY SPIRIT baptism their lives are never the same. The way they worship is with a difference, they have Spiritual connection with Spiritual realm when they engage in any form of worship. May the LORD grant this HOLY SPIRIT baptism to all who desire.

1Corinthians 14:38 "So [to conclude], my brethren, earnestly desire and set your hearts on prophesying (on being inspired to preach and teach and to interpret God’s will and purpose), and do not forbid or hinder speaking in unknown tongues." The desire is a condition that shows one's readiness to receive the HOLY SPIRIT. I urge you to desire this great thing. Amen.
