Appearances can be deceptive

Matthew 6:2-"So when you give something to a needy person, do not make a big show of it, as the hypocrites do in the houses of worship and on the streets. They do it so that people will praise them. I assure you, they have already been paid in full.
18-Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Matthew 7:15-Watch out for false prophets! They dress up like sheep, but inside they are wolves who have come to attack you.

Jesus warned about appearances.
Call it pictures, images good PR  ,branding etc impressions given either in pictures or acting .

He places focus on the Father and the heart .

Some are too particular about how they present their prayer lives ,church ministry, evangelism etc before the world
Fliers and branding more than what is actually done .
Men must see what we are doing .
They must know we are changing lives etc

That script isn’t crafted by Jesus .

Why burn energy to please men in a vocation which requires undivided loyalty to Christ .

That said .

Generally things  aren’t usually what they appear to be in pictures and impressions.

A smile Before cameras oftentimes is doctored ,disguised ,dummied .
Worship isn’t for cameras
Prayer and devotion .

Just as many other things .

A back to back account in the Old Testament is very instructive.

Two men whom God had  refused didn’t appear so in pictures.

1 Samuel 15:30 KJV
[30] Then he said, I have sinned: yet honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord thy God.

Before men !
That’s what mattered to him,

The very next chapter..

1 Samuel 16:6-7 KJV
[6] And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord's anointed is before him. [7] But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Before men ,videos,Instagram,YouTube ,great picture outlook ,he’s the lord’s anointed.
Before God, he’s rejected .

What will eventually matter will be the latter .

Hence ,doing men’s bidding at the expense of Gods approval is a wrong voyage .
