HAVE YOUR PRIORITIES RIGHT

“Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?” (John 21:15a)

When the disciples finally got to the shore, Jesus gave them food first. After they had eaten, He directed His attention to Peter, “Now, let Me talk to you”:

“Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?” In other words, “Peter, what is your priority in life? Is it money, fish, or Me?” Jesus asked Peter this question three times.

When you set your priorities right, light will come in to your darkness. David says, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:1-4)

Verse 5 of the same Psalm decisions: “The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.” The word shade means a protective covering from the elements, such as an umbrella.

Because of that, “The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.” (Psalm 121:6-7) What will the LORD preserve you from? All evil!

When you have your priorities right, your faith in Christ will stand. You will see things going well for you even as you’ve chosen to put Christ first.

Prayer/Confession: Lord, I accept You into my life today. Help me set my priorities to conform with Your standards. Preserve my family and I from all forms of evil this day now and forevermore, Amen.

Words of Wisdom: When you set your priorities right, light will come in to your darkness.
