THE PRICE OF PURPOSE: NO IMMEDIATE BENEFIT, BUT ULTIMATE GAIN

There is something God never promised you when He gave you your passion: instant results.

Yes, He gives purpose, He gives grace, He gives direction… but He rarely gives immediate applause.

Many people abandon their God-given assignment simply because the benefits are not showing quickly enough.

But here is a truth that may shock you:

God often hides the reward of purpose in the future so that only the truly called will stay.

Think about it.

When Noah started building the ark, there was no rain, no flood, no evidence—only divine instruction. For decades he built what looked like the most unnecessary ship in human history.

I can imagine the neighbors whispering:

"Brother Noah has started another strange project again." This is why abandon erstwhile projects.

Yet the day the rain came, the same ark that looked foolish became salvation.

Purpose often looks ridiculous before it becomes remarkable.

Look at Joseph. God showed him dreams of leadership, but the journey to those dreams passed through betrayal, slavery, and prison. If Joseph had judged his destiny by his temporary circumstances, he would have concluded that God made a mistake. You have had so many say they were never meant to do such and such a thing! This is abandoning God's promise He expressed through the prophet Jeremiah in 29:11.

But God was not mistaken—He was preparing a throne through a prison.

And consider David. The prophet anointed him king, yet after the oil touched his head, he went right back to shepherding sheep. No palace. No crown. Just sheep that did not even say "thank you."

Imagine telling people:

"I have been anointed king."

And they ask, "Where is your kingdom?"

And you say, "Currently… in the bush with sheep." God's purpose for most people looks ridiculous and far fetched.

Purpose is funny like that.

Even our Lord Jesus Christ spent 30 years in preparation and only 3 years in visible ministry.

Heaven took time to prepare what the world would see briefly.

So if you are pursuing what God has placed in your heart and it seems like:

• The recognition is slow

• The money is slow

• The applause is slow

• The results are slow

Relax.

Slow does not mean wrong.

A mango tree does not produce fruit the same year it is planted, but when it finally starts producing, it does not apologize to anybody.

Galatians 6:9 says:

"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

Notice the condition: if we faint not.

The harvest does not fail—people faint before it arrives.

So if God has placed a passion in your heart—whether ministry, business, writing, filmmaking, singing, weaving, serving humanity (1 Corinthians 12, 14)—remember this:

There may not be immediate benefits, but there will be ultimate gain. He who started a good thing in you will help you to accomplish it - Philippians 1:6.

What looks like a slow season today may actually be a preparation season.

Keep praying.

Keep working.

Keep believing.

Keep building.

In other words:

Keep on keeping on.

Because one day the thing that looked small, unnoticed, and unprofitable will suddenly become the very thing God uses to bless many lives—including yours. Remember your blessing doesn't come from human beings,  but God.

Praise God for He is the providence originator, keeper and deliverer. Be blessed.
