Rainbow Ministries International has been plunged into mourning following the tragic death of its pastor, Pastor Alpha Ngoni Gatsi, who was killed in a road accident on Tuesday.
In a statement released to the church and the global Rainbow Ministries family, Apostle Dr Bishop Phiri confirmed that Pastor Gatsi was traveling with his father and uncle when the fatal accident occurred. All three died at the scene.
“It is with deep sorrow that we share the sad news that our pastor, Pastor Alpha Ngoni Gatsi, was involved in a road accident today while traveling with his father and his Uncle,” read the statement. “Tragically, all three passed away on the spot.”
The sudden loss has sent shockwaves through the ministry and the wider Christian community, with congregants and fellow ministers expressing grief and disbelief at the passing of a servant described as dedicated and faithful.
Apostle Dr Bishop Phiri called on the church to stand with the bereaved family in prayer during this painful period. “We are deeply saddened by this loss and ask the church to keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time,” he said.
He added that further information regarding funeral arrangements and other details would be communicated later. “More details will be shared in due course,” the statement noted.
Concluding the message with words of faith and comfort, Apostle Dr Bishop Phiri said, “May the Lord comfort and strengthen!”
Pastor Alpha Ngoni Gatsi’s death marks a profound loss for Rainbow Ministries International, as the church remembers a life devoted to service, faith, and ministry.
