The Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) has joined the nation in observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, calling on communities to stand in solidarity with those affected by the disease.
In a statement, the ZCC emphasized its support for women, men, families, and communities across Zimbabwe who are impacted by breast cancer. “This month, we come together in faith, love, and action to raise awareness, encourage early screening, and support those on the journey toward healing,” the council said.
The council reminded the public that breast cancer can affect anyone, but early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment. “Take time to get screened, support those in treatment, celebrate survivors, and honour the memory of those we’ve lost,” the ZCC urged.
Highlighting the role of unity and faith in combating the disease, the statement added: “Through unity and faith, we can bring hope, healing, and strength to our nation. Let’s all wear pink, speak up, and spread the message.”
The ZCC also encouraged Zimbabweans to use the hashtags #ZCCCares #ThinkPink #FaithInAction #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #Hope #Healing #Community to amplify awareness and inspire collective action.
