FREEDOM FROM ANGER

The Lord said to Cain, "Why are you Angry?" Genesis 4:6

Anger is not just an emotion, it is a prison. It chains our joy, distorts our vision, and keeps us from the freedom Christ longs to give. In Genesis 4, Cain is very angry because his sacrifice was not accepted. God warns Cain that sin is crouching at the door. Yet Cain chooses murder instead of introspection.

We are Cain when we hold grudges, justify bitterness, and allow emotion to override truth. Cain's anger led him to destroy his brother. Uncontrolled anger leads to generational consequences, it can make people commit terrible acts.

Let us look at the ultimate example, Jesus Christ. Though he was misunderstood, betrayed, falsely accused, and mocked, He did not allow anger to consume His heart. On the Cross, as the weight of humanity's sin and hatred pressed upon Him, He responded not with vengeance or bitterness, but with forgiveness.

Rather than letting anger write our stories, let the love of Christ rewrite our hearts. He alone can heal the wounds that fester beneath our rage, transforming restlessness into peace, bitterness into blessings.

To God be the glory.
