The Late Envoy Samson Mazhude has been laid to rest at the Glen Forest Memorial Gardens in Harare this afternoon.

In retirement, Envoy Mazhude soldiered at Darwendale Corps, Makonde Division.

Born on June 25th, 1935, Envoy Mazhude  dedicated his life to serving both the educational and spiritual needs of his community through his work with The Salvation Army.

His journey of service began in 1967, where he took on the role of Envoy at Nyanhunzi Primary School, Mupinyuri Primary School, and Nyamhondoro Primary School.

His commitment to these institutions was evident as he worked tirelessly to improve the educational standards and spiritual well-being of the students.

In 1959, Envoy Mazhude moved to Makonde, continuing his mission with The Salvation Army. His dedication to his role was unwavering, and he soon found himself serving in Chinhoyi.

His work in Chinhoyi was marked by his ability to connect with the community and foster a sense of unity and purpose.

Envoy Mazhude's journey then took him to Mutorashanga, where he served as both headmaster and Envoy.

His dual role allowed him to integrate the church's presence within the school, creating a unique environment where education and spirituality coexisted harmoniously.

This approach not only benefited the students but also strengthened the community's bond with The Salvation Army.

In 1975, Envoy Mazhude moved to Darwendale, where he founded a school in Delomore.

Despite the challenges of limited resources, his vision and determination were clear.

Although the school was short-lived, his efforts laid the groundwork for future educational endeavors in the area.

Envoy Mazhude's most significant contribution came during his time at Maringove, where he served at both the primary and secondary schools.

His leadership and dedication were instrumental in establishing the only secondary school in Darwendale, a testament to his commitment to education and community development.

His work at Maringove left a lasting impact, providing countless students with the opportunity to pursue higher education and better their lives.

After decades of service, Envoy Mazhude retired in 2000, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and compassion.

His wife, who was promoted to glory in 2004, shared in his journey and supported his mission. Together with his wife, they raised six children, who have continued to honor their father's legacy.

Envoy Mazhude is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who carry forward the values and principles he instilled in them.

Envoy Mazhude's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to serving others.

His work with The Salvation Army and his contributions to education have left an indelible mark on the communities he served.

His legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and a deep sense of purpose, inspiring future generations to continue his mission of service and community building. #SeasonOfPrayerAndCommitment  - Salvationist online
