Persecution is an evangelism tool

showers of blessings

Reverend N Murambadoro

Acts 11:19-21

"Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria.

They preached the word of God, but only to Jews. However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about the Lord Jesus.

The power of the Lord was with them, and a large number of these Gentiles believed and turned to the Lord."

Persecution was used by GOD as an Evangelism tool. Disciples were enjoying the comfort of Jerusalem and were neglecting the call to go the end of the world.

As a result of persecution, everyone who was scattered went with the message of CHRIST.

Some were only preaching to the Jews, but some believers began to preach to Gentiles too. This was an act of obedience to the Command given by JESUS CHRIST on Matthew 28:19 "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." As a result of obeying the LORD'S Command, many Gentiles were saved.

Have you ever seen that, some situations confronting us are allowed by GOD for HIS purpose. They might be pleasant or unpleasant.

Like here, the situation was unpleasant but GOD allowed it for HIS purpose.

What I like about these believers is that, they took opportunities of preaching the Gospel in that bad situation, they focused on the positive of their terrible circumstance. They did not complain or grumble about the situation.

This is our encouragement in this time of pandemic, where many people have lost their jobs, some have lost their loved ones, some have been locked away from families.

In this bad situation, it is time to focus on the positive of the situation and do the Will of GOD. HE allowed such a situation in our time for HIS purpose.

Therefore, let us take this opportunity to serve GOD'S Divine will and purpose in our time.

For us to be able to serve GOD'S Divine will and purpose, we don't need to concentrate on the negative but rather see opportunities in every situation and focus on the positive of the current situation. Amen.

Blessings and Shalom
Rev and Family.
