“And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few. So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai.” Joshua 7:3–4 (KJV)
Underestimating your enemy leads to defeat. We can learn great lessons from the opening scripture.
Joshua was counseled by the spies he sent to view the land of Ai to send only a few soldiers to fight the battle, but they were given the surprise of their life, and they fled before their enemies.
Joshua had to inquire of the LORD, and consecrate the Israelites by removing the accursed thing, before they were able to defeat Ai (Joshua 7:13; 8:24–25). Dear beloved, don’t underestimate the devil and his cohorts of darkness; they can use anybody to rob you of your blessings. Be ready in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2).
Watch and always pray, live a holy life, and apply the wisdom of God in the Holy Scripture, and you will always triumph over your enemies. Hallelujah! Be an overcomer! Prayer Point: Holy Spirit, wake me up to pray to keep my enemies under my feet. Hallelujah!!!
