“And the Philistine said to David, come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beast of the field.” (1 Sam 17:44)
In 1 Samuel 17:44, Goliath said to David, “Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.”
He had concluded it. He thought it was done, but what he did not know is that David already said in Psalm 135:5, “For I know that the LORD is great and that our Lord is above all gods.”
When you are going somewhere, and you have to pray, pray as if you are mad. When you read 1 Samuel 17: 45, David was saying to Goliath
“Thou comest to me with a spear, and with a sword and with a shield; but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.”
In other words, David said, “I have come nto you in a name.” The Rock of Ages, my protector. He is Jesus!
A name is there. What is the name? Jehovah Sabaoth, the God of battles. Sabaoth! That is the name. See, you must look for the appropriate name of God for each occasion and situation you find yourself.
The name of Jesus covers all, but there are some battles that require you to call God by His specific name with which he won such battles in the Bible.
That was exactly what David did.
Who is man? What is man? You cannot fight with God. Who are you? Where did you come from? Were you not born by a woman?
Words of Wisdom: You must look for the appropriate name of God for each occasion.
Prayer/ Confession: I decree and declare by the name above all names, devil you are a liar. You cannot stop me from taking what is mine. Amen!
