Holy Spirit is our witness

ROMANS 8:16-17;
16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17. And, if children, then heirs: heirs of God, and joint--heirs with Christ: if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

In important court cases, attorneys will sometimes hire an expert witness.

This is someone who has a special area of expertise which will lend credibility to the case the attorney is trying to present. Many courtroom dramas use the expert witness testimony for dramatic effect during the scripted courtroom scene.

 Someone is contesting a will. The heir to the estate must now prove himself. The case seems to be lost, when suddenly the expert witness is sworn in. He testifies to a little known fact, that turns the tide for the entire case.

 His credentials have made him the final word. His evidence is beyond contestation. The heir is proven. When the world tries to take away our holy inheritance, God sends His own expert witness, the Spirit, Himself.

 The Spirit steps in and testifies that we are wholly a child of God. His Word proves that we are heirs of God and joint--heirs with Christ. We are vindicated; our future is secure.

Prayer!!
Father we thank You that You think enough of us to step in Yourself to defend us against those who would deny us our spiritual heritage.

 Your Spirit is the expert witness that proves our claim. We are Your children and Your heirs and joint--heirs with Christ. Nothing can take that away from us.
