On 10 July 2026, during the handover of humanitarian assistance to Zimbabwean returnees in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) General Secretary Rev. Wilfred Dimingu shared a heartfelt message of hope, reminding returning Zimbabweans that they are not alone.
Rev. Dimingu reaffirmed the Church's commitment to walking alongside returnees and complementing Government efforts. He also called on all ZCC member churches to mobilise resources to ensure returning Zimbabweans receive a dignified welcome home.
"As the Church, we are the first to kneel and the last to stand," he said.
The ZCC encouraged Zimbabweans to watch and share the message, which emphasizes compassion, solidarity and hospitality towards those returning home.
"Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality." — Romans 12:13.
