Evangelist Muparinga Gets Car Gift From Chivayo

By Staff Reporter

Controversial businessman and philanthropist Wicknell Chivayo has once again made headlines after gifting a brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner and US$50,000 in cash to popular street preacher Evangelist Trymore Muparinga.

Posting on his official Facebook page last week, Chivayo said he was recognising Evangelist Muparinga for his unwavering dedication to spreading the gospel from the streets of Harare, particularly at the corner of First Street and Speke Avenue.

“There are voices that echo from pulpits and then there are voices that rise from the pavements,” Chivayo wrote. “For many years, at corner 1st Street and Speke Avenue, a certain evangelist became a spiritual compass for many, using no stage, no PA system, but just a humble preacher of the Word and a heart full of fire.”

Chivayo praised Muparinga’s simple yet powerful sermons, which he said were often laced with humour but deeply nourishing to the soul.

“My favorite sermon by this unassuming man of God revolved around how Christians must work hard as much as they pray hard. ‘Prayer haidzinge nhamo, inodzinga mweya wenhamo,’” he recalled, adding: “‘We are not heavenly minded to be earthly useless!’”

According to Chivayo, Muparinga stood out for his humility and consistency, never using his platform to attack others but rather to uplift and inspire.

“What sets you apart from many other men of God… is that never have I heard you speak ill of another man of God. Your message has always been love, compassion, prayer, discipline and hard work – values that I personally believe in,” Chivayo wrote.

He went on to commend Muparinga’s decision to remain grounded, despite having opportunities to elevate his life abroad.

“Even after travelling overseas and receiving opportunities to improve your life, you have not allowed pride or ego to take over. You have remained the same humble preacher who returns to where grace located him.”

In recognition of Muparinga’s “exceptional contribution to the body of Christ,” Chivayo instructed him to visit Exquisite Motors to collect his brand-new Fortuner, fully paid for. He also pledged an additional US$50,000 to support Muparinga’s ministry.

“You will receive USD$50,000 in cash to support your growing ministry, whether to purchase instruments, set up equipment, or take the gospel to even greater heights,” Chivayo declared.

Evangelist Muparinga is widely known for his unique street preaching style, mixing comedy, drama and deep biblical insight to attract large audiences in Harare’s city centre. His message of hope and hard work continues to resonate with ordinary Zimbabweans.

Chivayo ended his post with a blessing: “May God continue blessing you abundantly.”
