Galatians 3:1-5
“O you foolish and thoughtless and superficial Galatians, who has bewitched you [that you would act like this], to whom—right before your very eyes—Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified?
This is all I want to ask of you: did you receive the Holy Spirit as the result of obeying the requirements of the Law, or was it the result of hearing [the message of salvation and] with faith? Are you so foolish and senseless? Having begun with the Spirit, are you now being perfected and reaching spiritual maturity by the flesh?
Have you suffered so many things and experienced so much all for nothing—if indeed it was all for nothing?"
Paul a man of GOD was frustrated and disappointed by Galatians. They acted as if they had never received and experience the fellowship with GOD through HIS HOLY SPIRIT. Out of anger coupled with love for them, he called their actions foolish. It was extreme to express his emotions this way but it was appropriate. Just imagine as a Pastor, if I call Congregants foolish, what would be the headlines tomorrow on social media.
I am learning some things here. Firstly, people are not immune to false teaching. We are seeing this today. People are being fooled misled and are believing open lies. They are leaving the pure way of salvation to man made ways of salvation. Secondly, anyone can be emotional and act angrily to various issues no matter how spiritual they are.
Being angry with something does not mean unspiritual. Take note that in your anger, do not sin against GOD. Paul tried to reveal their error more than expressed anger. May the LORD enable us to act properly whenever we are emotional. Amen.
Blessings and Shalom
