North Korea Urged To Release Christian Serving 15 Years For Preaching Gospel

Voice of the Martyrs has launched a campaign seeking the release of Jang Moon Seok, an ethnic Korean Chinese Christian who was kidnapped along the border by North Korea and sentenced to 15 years in prison for telling North Koreans about Christ.

Jang recently spent his 2,000th day in prison.

[Jang] is a simple man who never did anything political,” said Voice of the Martyrs Korea representative Hyun Sook Foley.

“He just helped North Korean people for many years. That should never be a crime, and Christians should join together to help Deacon Jang and his family.”

Jang was friends with pastor Han Chung-Ryeol, a Chinese man who lived along the border and discipled 1,000 North Koreans before being killed by North Korean assassins in 2016. Christian Headlines profiled Han last year.

Jang ministered to defecting North Koreans in Changbai, China, alongside Pastor Han.

“We believe the reason for [Jang’s] kidnapping was to gather information about the North Korean ministry work we were doing with Pastor Han,” Foley said.

He is serving a 15-year prison sentence for defaming the regime, attempting to incite subversion of state power, and providing aid and the gospel to North Koreans.

Several North Koreans have encountered Jang in prison since 2014, Voice of the Martyrs said.-Christian Headlines.

Donors Raise US $ 400 000 To Assist Struggling Churches

An initiative that seeks to financially help small and struggling churches in the wake of COVID-19 has raised more than $400,000 and received over 1,000 applications for funding.

Through the Churches Helping Churches Initiative, a relief fund was set up to provide $3,000 grants to churches at risk of closing due to a decrease in financial giving during the pandemic.

The initiative is led by the AND Campaign, with support from other organizations such as the National Latino Evangelical Coalition, Pinkston and the Pinetops Foundation.

As part of this effort, national Christian groups are urging larger and more stable churches to contribute and help keep these small churches open.

Organizers hope to raise at least $500,000 in April through help from Christian donors, foundations and large churches.

They will continue to fundraise money through May, Pinkston Vice President D.J. Jordan said.
An application process opened April 6 for small churches to apply for the grants.

Through the relief fund, 68 churches have each been granted $3,000, Jordan said.

About 980 applications have been submitted.
Deliverance Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, Hold the Light COGIC in Detroit, Plantando Iglesias in Minneapolis and Union Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago are among the churches that have received funding.
Jordan said they'll still be accepting applications in May, but those that have been submitted in April will take precedence.

This initiative is targeted toward congregations of 25 to 150 members in low-income communities in urban areas that have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 economic shutdown. Rural churches in low-income communities will also be considered.

Details  across the nation show that blacks and Latinos have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

In California, black and Latino residents who are ages 18 to 64 are dying more often of COVID-19 than their white and Asian counterparts relative to their share of the population, a Los Angeles Times analysis found.

In Michigan, 40 percent of deaths from COVID-19 have been among African Americans, though they represent 13.6 percent of the state’s population, according to the Detroit Free Press.- Christian Headlines.

Sanitize Surfaces Around You To Prevent Spread Of COVID-19

It is not certain how long the virus that causes COVID-19 survives on surfaces, but it seems to behave like other coronaviruses.

Studies suggest that coronaviruses (including preliminary information on the COVID-19 virus) may persist on surfaces for a few hours or up to several days.

This may vary under different conditions (e.g. type of surface, temperature or humidity of the environment).

If you think a surface may be infected, clean it with simple disinfectant to kill the virus and protect yourself and others. Clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or nose.

Is it safe to receive a package from any area where COVID-19 has been reported?

Yes. The likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.

Principle of multiplication

“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”
John 6:9, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:
In today’s Scripture, a little boy had a sack lunch—five loaves of bread and two fish. Nothing much. Yet when thousands of people were hungry, Jesus took his lunch, multiplied it, and fed the whole crowd. Think about the boy’s mother who made the lunch.

She was a homemaker raising a child without a title or acclaim. But titles don’t bring fulfillment.

Keeping up with your neighbors doesn’t bring happiness. Trying to impress your friends will make your life miserable, but understanding your assignment and being comfortable with who God made you to be are what bring true fulfillment.

Don’t discount the gift God has given you. Are you secure enough to play the role that God has given you?

Are you comfortable enough to not have to be number one, to have the title, to keep up with others? The beauty of our God is that He has given every one of us a specific gift and purpose.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You that the gifts You have given me are custom-made.

Thank You that You have matched me for what You want me to do, and I have exactly what I need to fulfill Your plan for my life. I declare that I am content with my assignment. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

"WINNING SOULS "

2 Corinthians 5:19; "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. "

There is no better way to express your love for Jesus Christ than to win souls for Him. The souls for which He died. He gave His life for everyone.

If you were the only one that needed salvation, He would still have come to die for you. He died on the Cross because we are valuable to God. Therefore,  soul winning is worth everything. It's the most important thing on Earth.

You can say, "I claim ten souls for Jesus Christ today by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Name. After making that declaration of faith, you go out and evangelize.

Let your faith work in reaching people for Christ. In John 5:19, Jesus said, "I do what I see my Father do."

You should copy the Master. As you win souls, you are carrying out His passion and the glory of His Kingdom is manifested in your life.

John 5:35; "He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light." You have to be a burning and shining light and impact lives with the Gospel.

Daniel 12:3; "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." This is your calling and your responsibility.

With the light of the Gospel of Christ, you dispel the darkness in the hearts of the unconverted; impacting them with the message of eternal life and establishing them in righteousness.

Through you, the knowledge of Christ spreads everywhere and your triumphs of faith effuse exquisite fragrance of God's glory everywhere.

Christian Festival Association Launches "Hope Lives Initiative"

Today the Christian Festival Association (CFA), the leading association of Christian Festivals in North America, announced the launch of their “Hope Lives” initiative.

As a part of the initiative, all of the festivals represented by the association have together adopted the theme “Hope Lives” for their ministries in 2020 and committed afresh to sharing messages of hope and encouragement to their communities throughout this challenging time.

“The CFA stands together as a beacon of hope and a place for families and friends to gather throughout the summer season,” said CFA Executive Director Julie Klinger. “During this time in our country we desire to unify together more now than ever before under this theme that ‘Hope Lives’.”

John 1:5 says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” This verse is the inspiration for the message of Hope Lives. As we all continue through these uncertain times, the CFA wants to remind everyone that no matter how difficult these days are, Jesus remains our living hope. When this virus is behind us we look forward to reuniting and celebrating together, knowing that no matter what challenges we face, we overcome through Christ.

“Hope Lives!” said Rob Roozeboom, founder and director of RiseFest, one of the CFA Festivals participating in the campaign. “RiseFest loves these two words put together, why, because Hope has a name. Peace has a name. Healing has a name. Restoring has a name.

Overcoming has a name. And that name is Jesus! We’ve challenged our community to write Hope Lives with chalk on their sidewalks and driveways, and to put signs of Hope Lives in their windows.

We want to plaster our community with Hope Lives! Because eventually we will reunite, celebrate and have overcome!”-gospelmusic.org.

Divine Opportunities

‘‘I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” (Eccl. 9:11) KJV

In Genesis 4, the bible tells us about Cain and Abel. They were both farmers. One was a farmer that plants seeds in the land and the other was a farmer that kept animals. Cain was the one that planted seeds while Abel was the one that kept animals.

Verse 3 says, “And in process of time, it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.”

As divine timing comes, so also does opportunity come. The opportunity now came for Cain to bring an offering to God. But the man was a fool.

The bible says “Cain brought of the food of the ground an offering unto the Lord.” Is that a bad thing?

The next verse says: “And Abel, (who understood divine timing), he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof”. See how that verse ends now.

“And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering; but unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect.”

Cain brought an offering but it was unlike Abel who understood timing and opportunity.

The latter took the firstling. When you see firstling in the bible, it is talking of the best. He presented the best before the Lord.

And the bible says that God had respect for his offering. In verse 7, God was talking to Cain who now was now angry, “If thou doest well, shall thou not be accepted?”

What God is saying is that the same favour that He had shown to Abel could have also been given to Cain but they know divine timing so that I will take hold of that opportunity and do the right thing. Amen!

Make Wise Decisions

The Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the LORD.  Joshua 9:14, NLT

Joshua and the Israelites had just defeated Jericho miraculously. God’s favor was on them.

A group of people, who lived nearby, knowing they also would be destroyed, came up with an elaborate plan to deceive Joshua into believing they were from a distant land and make a peace treaty with them, which God had forbidden.

It was a persuasive deception on the surface, and it became a big headache that could have been avoided if Joshua had consulted the Lord.

That’s why you need to consult with the Lord before you get involved with people, before you sign that contract, before you put the money down.

People show you one side, but God can see the whole package.

You’re not going to make the best decisions if you’re not consulting with God. He will protect you from making mistakes, open the right doors, bring the right people, and take you to the fullness of your destiny.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You for all the ways You have protected me from harm and mistakes.

Thank You that You haven’t left me on my own to work out my destiny. I will choose to consult You for wisdom and guidance in my decisions. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

He Will Deliver Us

Showers of blessings

Reverend N Murambadoro

Psalm 140:1-13 " Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men;  preserve me from violent men, who plan evil things in their heart  and stir up wars continually.

They make their tongue sharp as a serpent's, and under their lips is the venom of asps.Selah Guard me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked;   preserve me from violent men, who have planned to trip up my feet.

The arrogant have hidden a trap for me, and with cords they have spread a net;[a] beside the way they have set snares for me.Selah. I say to the Lord, You are my God; give ear to the voice of my pleas for mercy, O Lord! O Lord, my Lord, the strength of my salvation, you have covered my head in the day of battle.

Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; do not further their[b] evil plot, or they will be exalted! Selah.

As for the head of those who surround me, let the mischief of their lips overwhelm them! Let burning coals fall upon them!

Let them be cast into fire, into miry pits, no more to rise! Let not the slanderer be established in the land; let evil hunt down the violent man speedily!

I know that, Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted,  and will execute justice for the needy. Surely the righteous shall give thanks to your name; the upright shall dwell in your presence"

Many times in David’s life, he suffered under the presence and pressure of evil and violent men. This desperate song came from such a time, and shows its urgency by having no prelude of praise or contemplation.

David went straight to his plea. Those evil men were known by the evil things in their hearts.

Their evil actions were not accidents disconnected from their true nature, as shown in that they were always ready for conflict and war.

The desire for war and evil things is often expressed in sharp and poisonous words. David felt both the sting and the poison of such men and their words.

In the first portion of this psalm, David acknowledged the presence of wicked and violent men.

With such a realistic view, he then requested of GOD, They hoped to make David trip over a series of hidden snares, cords, nets, and traps, many of which were expressed in their poisonous words verse 3. David was not blind to the traps, but he had hope in GOD'S ’s help.

In recognizing the supremacy of YAHWEH, David realized that if GOD  were to help the wicked, then they would be exalted. He prayed for GOD to work for HIS people and against the desires of the wicked.

When David considered the need for the wicked to be stopped in their evil plotting, it prompted a thoughtful pause
David prayed for simple justice in regard to his enemies. He prayed they would be covered with the same evil they had spoken against others.

David prayed that the same fire that wicked men poured out on others would be poured out on them. He prayed that this would destroy the wicked, and that they would be hunted by evil until they were overthrown.

These evil men hunted David in verses 4-6. David prayed that the same would be returned to them – that the hunters would be hunted by their very evil.

David remained confident that GOD would defend His afflicted people. This would mean justice for the poor and others who suffer from the words and works of wicked men.
This psalm ends on a note of confidence.

Though assaulted by the wicked, David put his trust in the LORD, and gave all his desire for retribution unto HIM.

David believed that in the end, the righteous would be thankful and the upright would dwell in HIS presence – the best reward of all.

Waal, what a comfort do we get from this Psalm.

It is important to know that even the Godly men and women in this world at some point go through these horrible circumstances where the devil raises wicked people who dont sleep devising evil against you. When they come, they cover their wickedness with a smile but behind holding swords.

Dont be ignorant and turn a blind eye, the devil is raising such to destroy you, either at work, at Church, at home or anywhere. Be wise, stay alert in prayer. Trust, rely and have confidence in the LORD and the wicked enemies will do nothing.

The LORD will protect you.  The psalmist said, if it wasn't the LORD on our side, the enemy would have swallowed us. Amen.

Passion for prayer

Showers of blessings

Reverend N Murambadoro

Psalm 140: 1-10 "I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me; hear me when I call to you.

May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips.

Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies. Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness; let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head.

My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers. Their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs, and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken. They will say, “As one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.”

But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death. Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety."

The psalmis reveals that there is no other refuge in our necessity but only to flee to GOD for comfort of soul.

David's earnest zeal and gesture in prayer is alluded to the sacrifices which were commanded by GOD'S.

He asked GOD to guard his mouth, that he might not utter any rash, unguarded, and unbecoming word; but take and use the words which GOD gives, even the taught words of the HOLY SPIRIT, or lest, being under affliction and oppression, he should speak unadvisedly with his lips, and utter any impatient murmuring and repining word against GOD. He avoided to express any fretfulness at the prosperity of the wicked, or speak evil of them; especially of Saul, the Lord's anointed, for the ill usage of him.

David said, keep the door of my lips, which are as a door that opens and shuts: this he desired to be kept as with a bridle, especially when the wicked were before him because he didn't want to say anything they would use against him, and to the reproach of religion; and that no corrupt communication, or any foolish and filthy talk, or idle and unprofitable words, might proceed from them. We can see that David was sensible of his own inability to keep a proper watch and guard over his words, as was necessary, and therefore prays the Lord to do it.

David's foresight compelled him to see the need for GOD to protect him from being lured by the prosperity of the wicked to act wickedly too.

He committed himself to abide by all corrections that came from a loving heart of the LORD.

He wished for the people who follow their wicked rulers in persecuting the prophet to repent and turn to GOD, when they see their wicked rulers being punished. As he concludes, it appears that David was miraculously delivered out of many traps that were set to destroy him.

As we are waking up to this new day, may it be your prayer and commitment take refuge in the LORD and ask GOD to set a guard on your mouth.

Sometimes the same mouth from where praises and worships proceede to the LORD comes filthy unpleasant words, especially when in difficult times. Let's reflect on this, how many times have we complained and grumbled against GOD and afterwards repent of our shortcomings.

David tried to avoid speaking carelessly before GOD and men that's why he asked GOD to set a guard.

May the LORD help by setting a guard on your mouth, that you would not speak any filthy language before GOD and men. Amen.

Blessings and Shalom

COVID 19: Warriors Star In Financial Doldrums

Warriors and Maritzburg United striker Clive Augusto has admitted that the Covid-19 enforced lockdown has had an impact on professional footballers’ earnings.

South Africa is currently on an extended national lockdown as the President Cyril Ramaphosa-led administration battles the global pandemic, mening all football activity is on hold, a situation which Augusto bemoaned.

“I actually really miss playing football hope everything will be well soon and we go back to our normal lives. Our pockets are dry now, we miss the winning bonus allowances. We also miss entertaining our fans,” he told H-Metro.

“I am at work, away from family. Yes I do miss them but I have to be at work right now. At a time like this we all want to be with our family but at times we have other pressing commitments.

“We are talking on the phone and advising them to stay healthy,” added the former Chicken Inn man.

Christians Detained For Participating In Online Worship Service In China

Chinese officials detained multiple members of a congregation on Easter for participating in an online Zoom worship service.

The members of Early Rain Covenant Church were gathering on Zoom on Easter morning when Chinese security officials blocked the meeting on the Internet and took six members into custody from their homes, according to International Christian Concern .

Early Rain is an illegal unregistered church that was shut down by Chinese officials in 2018. Its members have stopped gathering in-person.

Early Rain’s pastor, Wang Yi, last year was sentenced to nine years in prison for “inciting subversion of state power” and “illegal business operations,” although his only crime was to preach the gospel in an unregistered church, supporters say.

A church member told ICC of the Easter meeting, “At that time I was also in the Zoom call, but there was a long period of time where I did not hear a thing. I thought it’s the network connection issue at first, but I soon heard a quarrel erupt.

Our coworker Wang Jun was questioning some people, [saying], ‘Who are you to do this [to us]?’”

Church members Wang, Guo Haigang, Wu Wuqing, Jia Xuewei, Zhang Jianqing and Zhang Xudong were detained and later released, ICC reported.

Zhang Jiangqing reportedly was warned by police, “Don’t participate in already banned [religious] activities anymore! Don’t listen to Pastor [Wang]’s sermons anymore! If you do this again, we will deal with it seriously and take you away!”
Gina Goh, ICC’s Regional Manager for Southeast Asia, said China’s action warrant an international response.

“It is such a shame that the Chinese government has not once stopped its persecution of ERCC,” Goh said.

“Ever since the … crackdown in 2018, local authorities have continued to monitor and harass ERCC members, with the hope that the church will disperse itself.

In a time when the Chinese people are suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic, the heartless regime chose to inflict more trouble on its citizens.

The UN should immediately suspend China’s appointment to the Human Rights Council for its lack of respect for human rights.”-International Christian Concern.

Coronavirus Lockdown:How To Spend Time With Children At Home

Home with the kids? Try taking 20 minutes a day doing something that they choose – play a game or read with them. Quality time will make them feel safe and loved.

Praise is powerful. Try praising your child or teenager for something they have done well.  They may not show their appreciation, but you’ll see them doing that good thing again.

Routine up! A structured day helps kids feel secure and makes it easier to manage them. Try making a timetable, with schoolwork, games, free time, exercise, and handwashing.

Kids at home driving you crazy? Feeling like you are going to scream? Give yourself a 1-minute pause. Breathe in and out five times. Then respond.

Crowded house? Stressed out? Share your feelings. Take a break. Looking after kids 24-7 during COVID-19 isn’t easy. Remind yourself of what you did well today. Think about the good moments.

Take care of yourself so you can take care of your children.

NGOs Intensify Efforts To Combat Spread Of Coronavirus

Community Tolerance Reconciliation and Development(COTRAD) and Zimbabwe Online Health Centre have joined hands in the fight against the deadly COVID -19 pandemic.

Below is a statement jointly produced by the two organisations:

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans.

In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

The most recently discovered coronavirus causes the  COVID-19 disease.

Anyone anywhere can be infected by the virus.

It infects people through coughing and sneezing, touching an infected person's hands or face or touching infected objects an infected person has touched. It is like all the other viruses that cause common cold and is common in winter.

Main symptoms of Covid-19 are cough, sore throat, fever shortness of breath.

In people with an immunocompromised immune system such as children, elderly, those with heart diseases they might develop respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia or bronchitis.

There are ways one can protect themselves from catching the virus. Prevention methods include: washing hands with soap and running water or using a hand rub always.

Avoid touching the eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands. One must also remember to sanitize door handles at one's house, office or shop.

Avoid close contact with infected people. Those infected should also cover their nose, mouth when coughing.

According to WHO, washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.

You need to take note of social distancing...

When someone coughs or sneezes he or she  sprays small liquid droplets from his or her nose or mouth which may contain virus.

If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

However, if infected one needs plenty of rest, lots of fluids and manage the symptoms such as sore throat and  fever. If there is a pneumonia or bronchitis one should also receive appropriate treatment for that respiratory tract infection.

Currently there outbreak is causing havoc across the globe and in Zimbabwe 28 cases have been confirmed.

Because this is a communicable virus it spreads rapidly  therefore always protect yourself and your community.

Prevention is always better than cure.

Total Freedom In Christ

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom...

2 Corinthians 3:17

If you’re always thinking about something negative that happened yesterday, last month, last year, there’s no freedom there.

That’s where the Spirit of the Lord was. This is a new day. Quit living in what was and come over into what is.

Right now there is freedom, joy, peace, and restoration for you. Right now there are new beginnings.

Remaining upset and offended about what happened yesterday doesn’t bring freedom.

Living in regret of what you should have done or what could have been doesn’t do anything productive. It’s time to drop it and move forward. You may be a product of your past, but you don’t have to be a prisoner of your past. God already knew every hurt, every loss, and every mistake you would go through.

The good news is that for every setback, He’s already arranged a comeback; for every disappointment, a new beginning; for every failure, restoration; for all the ashes, He has beauty. Live in freedom.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You that Your Spirit is working in my life and bringing me into freedom.

Thank You that I can make a clear break with the past and enter into new beginnings. I declare that I am leaving behind what was and coming over into what is. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

God's Word Reflects Wisdom Of God

Philippians 2:13...

Many people have wonderful ideas for their jobs, finances ministry or career. But many are not able to  bring those ideas to fruition. They procrastinate. Discouraging thoughts and valid reasons not to act will come up, until the inspiration and the dream dies. Success comes from doing, not from seeing only.

That's why there are many people whose ideas were never recognized.

They never took action. If you listen to them speak, you would be very impressed.  But they don't have the drive and motivation. The solution is simple. You need to meditate on the Word.

God's Word is a propelling force. The Word of God is the wisdom of God. There are three kinds of wisdom. Theoretical wisdom which is insight; critical wisdom.

Which is analytical knowledge, which is the ability to understand concepts and practical wisdom, which is a force that makes you do and say the right things before you even think.  If you are conceptualizing and not acting, you must meditate on the Word daily.

People who do are successful people. When you see and act, it sets you apart for greatness. By the Spirit, go out to pursue your dream and achieve your goals.

You must be yielded to God's Word and take advantage of His inherent power and energy which work in you.

More than five languages, including Xhosa, English, Zulu, Swahili and Lingala, are represented on this gospel album.

Gospel from Mother Africa is authentic African gospel music that can easily be listened to as a natural tonic.

For anyone that enjoys gospel, and especially South African gospel, the album is an album that you will find yourself playing (even) more than you might have expected.

"Worship and concern, care and forgiveness, praise and validation, love and acceptance spread through all our lives.

This collection of contemporary songs, hymns, prayers and poems touch on these themes", says the album's producer, Andre Abrahamse.

As much as this is an album is about spirituality, it's also an album that could make you think deeply about wider social issues like the ever-present need for morality, peace and compassion on the African continent.

"In Africa we need to reach out to each other over the length and breadth of our continent.

We have much to learn from each other and need to protect each other from common scourges such as HIV/Aids, hunger, war and religious and tribal intolerance.

Through the medium of music we can connect and start to bring this to reality," is the appeal from Abrahamse"
One this is absolutely for certain, South Africa has soul, it has character and it has spirit; and our brothers and sisters from the Moroka Baptist Choir are responsible for an absolutely fantastic representation of this.- Capetown Magazine.

You are blessed

The Word of God is a book filled with promises.

The word “promise” in the Bible is defined as “a legally binding declaration that gives the person to whom it is made a right to expect or to claim the performance or forbearance of a specified act.”

I don’t just like the Bible because it is a book of promises; I like the promises in the Bible because they give me the right as a child of God to expect performance.

When I pick up the Bible, promises are tied to me, and I, as a child of God, am tied to them!

He will fight every battle for us

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

“Touch not my anointed ones.”
Psalm 105:15, ESV

TODAY'S WORD:
You are God’s anointed. When people come against you, they’re also coming against the God who put the blessing on you. The good news is, you don’t have to fight those battles.

Don’t try to do it in your own strength. You have a defender. Stand still and see the deliverance of the Lord.

The people and circumstances you’re up against may seem bigger and more powerful, but stay in peace. The blessing on you is greater than what’s trying to stop you.

The Scripture says that what God has blessed, no man can curse. The blessing on you is more powerful than any betrayal, than any negative word spoken over you, than people trying to discredit you. Nobody can take that blessing from you. That means you are blessed no matter what people or circumstances say. Here’s the key: the blessing did not come from people, so it cannot be taken away by people.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You for the anointing You have put on my life.

Thank You that no one can take that blessing from me, and it is greater than whatever tries to stop me. I believe the blessing is going to take me further than I’ve imagined.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Showers Of Blessings We totally depend on God for everything

By Reverend N Murambadoro

Psalm 127:1
"Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; except the Lord keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain."

It was king Solomon to whom this Psalm is ascribed, whose great wisdom was acclaimed throughout the world and many of his precepts and proverbs, which were inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT are contained in the Scriptures. It is possible that the house built here is actually a family. “It may also signify the raising of a family, especially because this section precedes a unit in which the family is emphasized as a reward from the Lord (vv. 3-5).

In the Old Testament it is usual to speak of a family as a ‘house.’ “It we look at these Hebrew words like ben - a son, and bath - a daughter, and beith - a house, they all come from the same root banah, to build; because sons and daughters build up a household, or constitute a family, as much and as really as stones and timber constitute a building.”

This Psalm reveals the importance or value of GOD'S Divine Blessing. In all the affairs and business of a family we must depend upon HIS blessing. For raising a family.

If God be not acknowledged, If GOD is not at the centre, If we are not dependent on GOD, we have no reason to expect HIS Blessing.

Unless the LORD crowns our best-laid plans with success, they will fail. If we need to be successful, GOD must be in the equation.

If we leave HIM out, we're guaranteed failure. If HE is in it, we are guaranteed success.

Therefore, I urge you to put GOD first in all your endeavours. Amen.

God's Blessings

Psalm 127:2 "It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of toil (kudya zvokutamburira) —for He gives to His beloved in sleep (asi Unopa Vake vakavata)."

This Psalm reveals great truth about our labours in relation to GOD.

We must understand that it is the LORD, Who blesses everything, meaning to say, our daily lives; our domestic duties; our business opportunities and our various labours.

The LORD is the one Who provides for our everyday needs, and it is upon HIM that each one of us should justifiably depend.

The LORD pours out HIS favour on our labour, and establish the work of our hands.

But when our toil is divorced from HIS providence, or when we undertake to work in our own strength, that's when we discover the futility of our actions.

When we seek to be independent of the LORD, we find it is vain to rise up early and retire late in order to eat the bread of toil or painful labours. But for those who trust and dependon GOD, they are blessed even when they are asleep.

This Psalm teaches us some important principles of living.

The blessings of GOD are not in rising up early and sleeping late but in putting GOD in the equation.

Trust, rely and depend on GOD in everything you do and you shall be blessed. Dont take things upon your shoulders. It is GOD who blesses with your little effort on working. Amen.

Mapeza Pays Tribute To Polish Mentor Grabowski

Norman Mapeza says Wieslaw Grabowski played a critical role in shaping his career both as a player and a coach.

The former Warriors boss is one of the early local players in post-independence era to feature in the Uefa Champions League after moving to Europe in the 90s.

The move was facilitated by Grabowski who owned and coached Darryn Textiles (DT) FC which played in the top-flight.

In an interview with Daily News on Sunday, Mapeza lauded the Poland-born gaffer nurturing him and other yesteryear big names such as Lloyd Chitembwe, Edelbert Dinha, Alois Bunjira and Shingirai Kawondera.

“Grabowski did a lot for so many players, for instance, Chitembwe and Dinha, both at one point of their careers played in Poland and a whole lot of other players, so I really want to thank him because he gave us an opportunity,” he said.

“Going to Europe was one of my best moments and playing for Zimbabwe…

“Some of the players that I played with are into coaching as well which means we had proper grooming and mentorship.”

Mapeza says his biggest regret is failing to win a league title as a player. He has achieved that feat as a coach, winning it three times – first with Monomotapa in 2008 and then with FC Platinum from 2017-18.

“Perhaps my only regret is that I didn’t manage to win a league as a player, but I’m grateful to God that he gave me a career and I’m grateful for my family,” he added.

PSL Giants Embrace Lockdown Extension

LOCAL Premiership clubs have come out in full support of the extended two-week national lockdown extension by the authorities on Sunday.

The country’s Big Three clubs — Dynamos, CAPS United and Highlanders — have welcomed the development.

Bosso chief executive, Nhlanhla Dube, said football could only be played in a healthy community.

“The extension of the national lockdown was inevitable given the spiralling numbers of new infections from the novel coronavirus,” said Dube.

“As a football club, we are fully supportive of the stance, which is a noble one.

‘‘We can do nothing without a healthy staff. We cannot play football when there is a threat of the spread of this disease within the community.

‘‘We have to be calm as a team and support the efforts by the authorities to try and contain the spread of the epidemic.”

Bosso have since launched a crowd-funding initiative to help in the fight against the disease which has claimed over 165 000 worldwide.

Dynamos chief executive, Jonathan Mashingaidze, said his team have since activated channels to ensure continued compliance among their members, especially players.

“This is not something to be taken for granted. We are fully behind the extension.

Football is a beautiful game but it ceases to be beautiful if it was to be played amid this pandemic,’’ he said.

‘‘This is a good decision taken by the authorities. If we were to to train, where would we be training without putting ourselves and members of the public at risk?
“It was going to be difficult.
“We need healthy players to be able to play football.

These are not normal times in which we are in.
‘‘We have to support the extension and pray that this will be over soon.”

CAPS United vice-president, Nhamo Tutisani, said nothing was more important than health.

“It is all about staying healthy and, for that matter, we can only applaud the move made by the authorities,’’ he said.

‘‘This is a delicate time we find ourselves in.

‘‘In as much as we would want to be playing football, we also have to acknowledge that football is played by healthy staff, and administered by equally healthy personnel.

‘’It won’t make any sense to risk our lives just for the sake of playing football.

 It’s a good step taken.’’
Other clubs have also come in full support of the extension.

Black Rhinos secretary-general Edward Mutukwa, Herentals coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva, Yadah mentor, Genesis Mangombe, and Nesbert Saruchera, the coach of newly-promoted Cranborne Bullets, have all been speaking with one voice in support of the extension.-State media.

Jesus Christ Saved My Life, Says 60-Year-Old Coronavirus Survivor

A 60-year-old  woman from  is crediting God for healing her after she contracted COVID-19 and appeared to be facing death.

Barbara Killiebrew told WALB she was hospitalized March 18 in Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga., and placed on a ventilator.
She thought she might die.

“First and foremost, I thank God for Jesus, for Him saving my life and giving me another chance, because two or three times where I have given up, God said no,” Killiebrew said.

She was unable to have family members with her due to hospital regulations during the pandemic. Still, Killiebrew said she didn’t feel alone, WALB reported.

“I realize there are so many people around the nation fighting for their life (sic) but God and his good almighty helped me. He kept this young lady here to come home and tell about … COVID-19," Killiebrew said.

The thought of her two daughters also helped her survive.

“I felt in my mind and my heart that I was coming back to them,” Killiebrew said. “I was fighting, I was fighting for my life.”

When Killiebrew was discharged from the hospital, she was wheeled down the hallways shouting, “Praise the Lord. Hallelujah.”

The Coffee County sheriff’s office also gave her a hero’s escort home, WALB reported.

“The sheriff and everything got together, blocked the roads off and I was thinking to myself, it could have been a funeral but instead, God has it turned around for a celebration,” she said.

Her faith-centric story inspired her community and led to more than 100 comments on the WALB Facebook page.

“God is in the miracle business! Praise, Praise the Lord God Almighty,” one person wrote.

“Thank you God for watching over her. Still praying for her,” another person wrote.

Christ's Light Will Always Triumph -Donald Trump

Christ’s light will always triumph over “trials and tribulations,” President Trump said in an Easter message that also commended Americans for displaying the “core tenets of Christianity” during the coronavirus pandemic.

The White House released the statement over Easter weekend.

“No matter the circumstances, we will always celebrate Easter as a time of rejuvenation, rebirth, and a renewed sense of purpose and faith,” Trump said . “The coronavirus will not stop Easter.

Even in the darkest hours, God’s abundant love and mercy are unwavering.

“The light of Christ will always triumph over the trials and tribulations we face because He has defeated death. Today, let us take a little extra time to pray for the strength of our country and our people, and ask that God hold all Americans in the palm of His hand. Together, let us rejoice in knowing that Christ has risen.”

The statement acknowledged this year’s Easter observance came “during a somber time for our Nation” but said Americans have displayed many works of compassion.

“Throughout this difficult period, we have witnessed the core tenets of Christianity – love, compassion, and kindness – reflected in the many acts of courage, generosity, and caring of the American people,” Trump said.

“Our country’s citizens have taken to heart the words of 1 Peter 4:10 : ‘Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.’

“Countless Americans have selflessly answered the calls for help in their communities and have performed extraordinary acts to help their neighbors in times of need.

Healthcare workers and medical professionals have worked tirelessly to heal the sick, and thousands of volunteers, first responders, critical workers, and businesses have contributed their time and resources to help defeat this virus.”

It wasn’t the only Easter message from Trump.

On Friday, he appeared in the Oval Office alongside Bishop Harry Jackson to deliver an “Easter Blessing.”-Christian Headlines

The accuser is defeated!

“The accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our GOD day and night, has been cast down.”

(Revelation 12:10, NKJV)

Revelation 12:10 KJV
...the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our GOD day and night.

The enemy will remind you of everything you’ve ever done wrong. It’s easy to live in regret, thinking about what you did or didn’t do. Don’t go through life looking in your rearview mirror, being down on yourself, living in regret.

You can’t do anything about the past, but you can do something about your future. The moment you asked GOD to forgive you, He forgave you. Why don’t you forgive yourself and empty out all the guilt? Turn off the accusing voices that try to deceive you into living with condemnation.

None of us deserve to be blessed. We deserve judgment. This is what GOD’s mercy is all about. That’s why it’s called “the good news.” Your sins have already been paid for and forgiven. You don’t have to pay GOD back.

When the accuser says, “You blew it again!” just answer, “I’m not perfect, but I’m forgiven, and I’m moving forward.” Don’t let guilt poison your future.

“Father, thank You that there is no condemnation for those who are in *CHRIST JESUS*, and that includes me.

Thank You that the enemy has no power over my life.

I declare that I’m not perfect, but I am forgiven, and I’m moving forward in victory. In JESUS’ Name, Amen.”

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
Exodus 3:11, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:
So often we look at others and think, Wow, they are so amazing, and I’m so ordinary. They’re so smart, and I’m so average. She’s so beautiful, but I’m so plain. While it’s true that they may be amazing in certain areas, you have to realize there’s something amazing about you as well.

You are talented, you are attractive, and you have been fearfully and wonderfully made. While God wants us to celebrate others, He wants you to be celebrated as well. You didn’t get left out when God was handing out the gifts, the talents, or the looks. He put something in you that will cause you to shine. You can be a great businessperson, a great teacher, a great mother. Don’t get so focused on what somebody else has that you don’t realize what you have.

You have to know who you are. God breathed His life into you. You are His masterpiece. Don’t compare yourself. Celebrate yourself.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You for the amazing people You’ve brought into my life, and thank You for making me amazing as well.

Popular Christian Songwriter Ties The Knot

Christian artist/songwriter Hannah Kerr married Jason Earley last weekend in a private ceremony in Tennessee in lieu of their planned wedding due to the pandemic.

“Our wedding day was truly the best day of my life!!! It was nothing like we planned, but perfect in every way.

It was just us, our immediate family, and the minister. My brothers sang in the ceremony. I did my own makeup.

Our friend and photographer did my hair AND took these incredible pictures. It was sunny, blue skies, and 70 degrees all day. We cut a tiny cake and did our first dance in the chapel right after the ceremony.

We drove away at 6 pm in Jason’s car, and we both felt so happy that truly nothing else mattered. The whole day felt so special, so holy, and so sweet.

This coronavirus stuff has felt heavy and sad for weeks, but this day was a bright spot that reminded us that good is still happening!! God is still watching out for the tiny details and cares deeply for each one of us.

Power of the gospel of the cross

2 Corinthians 5:19; "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."

Many people don't understand the Gospel of Christ. The Gospel is not a fairytale. It is real and ssublime.Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; God, in human flesh,  came into this world to take the place of sinful man. He was crucified on the Cross, buried and was resurrected from the dead; He is alive today. You were crucified,  buried and resurrected with Him.

Everything He accomplished on the Cross was for the whole world. Because He lives, we live also. He was made sin for us, who knew no sin that we would become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21). We are compelled by this truth of the Gospel.

That, we were all dead and out of fellowship with God, now in Christ we are reunited in fellowship with God and we live. It is the most wonderful story. As fresh as tomorrow.

This is the same Gospel that Moses,David and all the prophets that spoke of Christ, prophesied about. This is the Gospel that has become real to our spirits.  How could you ever see and think but through His eyes and love.

When I think of Jesus and all He has done for me, I am strongly encouraged to make it known to the world.

Through the glorious Gospel, the good news of Christ's salvation, deliverance from the bondage and darkness of sin and eternal death and His righteousness, faith is stirred in many hearts and salvation abounds.

Christ reigns!

On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: King of kings and Lord of lords.

Revelation 19:16
When Jesus rose from the dead, God exalted Him and gave Him a “name which is abovande every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee might bow,” that includes all the rulers and kings of the earth. Jesus is alive today presiding from heaven over the rulers of the earth.

Now this is a breath-taking thought. But it is at the heart of biblical truth.

Jesus Christ is alive, and reigning over all the kings of the earth, all the events of the world. It should utterly revolutionize the way you watch the news and live out your life.

Though the enemy seems to be winning, Jesus is still on t he throne, His children are on the winning side!

He reigns for the sake of the church.

The Peace Of God

Deuteronomy 29:9; "Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do."

This is speaking of the Old Covenant.

  Known as the Ten Commandments.

No one has ever kept the Ten Commandments.

John 13:34-35; 34. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

This is the New Covenant of Christ Jesus.  This New Covenant has only one commandment.

Jesus broke the Old Covenant to just one commandment.
3 John1:2; "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thou soul prospereth."

Wish in this passage means pray. In this Epistle,  John is praying you will be in good health and be prosperous.

You can be prosperous and stay healthy all the days of your life if you are born again and give your heart to Christ.  Jeremiah 29:11-12; 11.

For I  know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil to give you an unexpected end. 12.

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you." Call on the Lord and He will answer you. He will never change. Hebrews 13:8; "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day,and for ever."

Just as quickly as this  Coronavirus can catch on, so can salvation. This virus was not sent by God. But that doesn't change the fact that we all need God in our lives.

We all must make every effort to preach the Gospel to lost souls and bring them out of the darkness and bondage of sin and perdition and into the glorious light of Christ and the Heavenly Kingdom. With Christ you will be successful, and prosperous.  Give your heart to Jesus.

Your life will then be full of peace, joy and happiness through His grace. God has always spoken prosperity. He made you a new creation when you were born again. (2 Corinthians 5:17). God has the Blueprint to your life.

Matthew 6:33; "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you." When you seek God, you will prosper.

John 6:10-13; 10. And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

 11. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given Thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. 12. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

13. Therefore they gathered them together and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto  them that had eaten."

Jesus will multiply your blessings and He will always take care of you.

Showers of blessings Fear Not, God Is In Control

By Reverend N Murambadoro

Psalm 121:1-8 "I will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]—From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip or to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber.

Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand [the side not carrying a shield].

The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore."

When I was looking at this Psalm I am encouraged a lot to call on the LORD at any time because HE is the only source of our help. Our responsibility is to activate prayer unto the LORD because that's where our help comes from.

In this season of Coronavirus Pandemic, our help comes from the LORD. When we are confronted with the effects of Coronavirus, our help comes from the LORD.

What's good about our GOD is that, HE doesn't slumber, HE doesn't sleep, meaning to say, HE is available all the time. HE is our keeper, and HE does not allow ourselves to be harmed. I know, sometimes when in difficult situation you are tempted to seek help from wrong places. You are tempted even to grumble and complain against GOD.

I want to encourage you, to take your responsibility of calling on the LORD and let HIM help you in HIS own way, because HIS way is the best. Amen.

Revealed: Mapeza Did Not Get A Single Cent After Leaving Chippa United

Chippa United chairman Siviwe Mpengesi has revealed Norman Mapeza didn’t get a cent when he resigned as the head coach in March.

Mapeza was just four months into his two-year deal when he gave up his post under unclear circumstances.

But it’s believed he had grown frustrated with the Mpengesi’s interferences in the affairs of the technical team.

In an interview, with IOL, the Chippa boss explained that they didn’t compensate the Zimbabwean gaffer when he left the club because he was not fired.

“Unlike (Norman) Mapeza for instance who resigned, he didn’t get anything, but when it comes to other coaches we have to settle (financially) whether for three months or even more than that.”

Chippa United has changed four coaches this season, and the team is now managed by Rhulani Mokwena who was loaned out by Orlando Pirates.

Popular Bosso Fan Dies

HIGHLANDERS FC supporters’ WhatsApp groups were awash with condolence messages for staunch Bosso supporter Lubelihle Maphosa, who succumbed to an asthma attack at the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) on Sunday.

Popularly known as Luba, the 35-year-old rarely missed Highlanders’ matches and was a member of the club’s Team Away group that travelled for all Bosso’s games outside Bulawayo.

Bosso fans, saddened that they will not give their “heroine” a befitting send-off due to the Covid-19 lockdown, described Maphosa as a sociable character, whom they were going to miss.

Precious Mathema said her friendship with Maphosa grew beyond the group.

“I still can’t believe that when the season starts, she will no longer be part of the group. It’s sad how we lose young fans, who love the club and make sacrifices supporting the team. Whenever we’re asked to chip in and help the club with goodies for pre-season training, she was quick to contribute,” said Mathema.

“What hurts more is that we won’t be able to properly pay our last respects due to the lockdown. We will always cherish the good times we shared together. It’s painful that we’ve lost one of us, but we trust that her spirit will be with us when we support our beloved club.”

In his condolence message, Thulani Moyo said Maphosa was part of the founding members of the club’s Great Bulawayo Bosso Supporters Chapter.

The chapter encouraged fans to take up life membership cards instead of just supporting on match days.
“We are saddened by the untimely death of our lovely sister kuBosso. She was so kind and understanding. It is so shocking to hear of the bad news. Anyway ,it is God’s will, we have to make do without her. As Team Away, we will miss Luba,” said another fan Shamiso Ncube.
Prince Tshuma, a Highlanders life member described Maphosa as an “energetic, loving and sociable figure” with a gentle soul.

Thobekile Sibanda said: “I’ve known her for a short time, but the way she embraced me left a mark in my life. Highlanders brought us together and we became sisters. Isitsha esihle asidleli.”

Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlophe said their thoughts are with Maphosa’s family.

“Our deepest condolences to Maphosa’s family and her friends. It is never easy to lose a loved one and as Highlanders, our thoughts are with the family and friends during such difficult times,” said Mhlophe.-State media.

Why Government Must Reject Coronavirus Vaccine

Farai Dziva|Prayer Network of Zimbabwe, a coalition of Christians from different denominations, has challenged Emmerson Mnangagwa's government to reject the Coronavirus vaccine.

See full statement below:

It is disheartening that COVID-19 has caused  havoc throughout the world in the manner it has, seemingly unabated and showing no signs of retreat.

Our prayers are with those infected and affected by this pandemic. We hold in great honour doctors, nurses and all those who are on the front line in this battle of our time.

However, we note with serious concern, recent reportage on the testing of new corona vaccines on Africans as suggested by two French doctors.

This has been rightly condemned by many people the world over. Most importantly, the World Health Organization condemned it and assured Africa and the world that it will not happen and that the world will be protected from such malice.

As PNZ, we are gravely worried about the silence of African leaders over this serious issue. Our expectations were that they would stand up against all attempts at using their people as guinea pigs by unscrupulous Western companies whose evil intentions  are clearly known about Africa.

It is time the world heeds to the voice of God. He reveals to redeem. A cure to this catastrophic pandemic would have been sought early but noone took heed to this prophetic signal.

We pray and petition our Zimbabwean Government to rise and lead in standing against COVID-19 vaccine experimentations being done in Africa.

Why are they not done in those countries worst hit by the pandemic. We implore the Zimbabwean and South African leaders to use their strong positions of influence in AU and SADC to lead the charge to send a strong message to the west that Africa is not a lab for testing half done vaccines.

Yes, we continue to pray for a vaccine to be found, tested and  produced to save the world. We stand with world citizens as we go through this pandemic and call on everyone to respect the advice of medical experts and governments in dealing with the virus. Stay at home, wash hands regularly and observe social distancing as advised.

PNZ also calls on African governments to invest in their own health care systems and stop running abroad every time they need medical attention. Rather, we urge African governments to prioritise medical research and disaster management in their development thrusts. We condemn corruption in African States which has contributed to poor heath care services and reduced our ability to adequetly respond to outbreaks of this magnitude.

In conclusion, we urge the World Health Organization to continue ensuring that Africa and the rest of the vulnerable world is protected against unethical vaccine and product development.

Prayer Network Zimbabwe Statement On  Coronavirus Vaccine

It is disheartening that COVID-19 has caused  havoc throughout the world in the manner it has, seemingly unabated and showing no signs of retreat.

Our prayers are with those infected and affected by this pandemic. We hold in great honour doctors, nurses and all those who are on the front line in this battle of our time.

However, we note with serious concern, recent reportage on the testing of new corona vaccines on Africans as suggested by two French doctors.

The Preacher's Sincere Talk

Surprise Your Critics

When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the LORD blessed him.

Genesis 26:12, NLT

During a great famine in the land, Isaac was about to move to Egypt, but God said, “Stay where you are. My favor is on you right here among the Philistines.” So despite the famine, Isaac planted his grain fields.

The Philistines were already jealous of him, and his planting in dry, hard soil added to their ridicule of him. But Isaac stayed in peace.

Several months later, his critics were amazed to see his hundredfold harvest.

At some point, you may be tempted to run from a situation where you face ridicule and opposition, but you do not have to leave in order to be blessed. God wants to bless you right where you are.

Part of His vindication is promoting you so the opposition can see it.

Your attitude should be: “They may be laughing now, but this challenge is preparing the way for God to promote me!” God is faithful. In the end, you will have the last laugh.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You for the promise to bless me right where I am, even when I face opposition and ridicule. I believe that You will multiply me even in the midst of famine.

I receive Your peace and rest knowing that You are faithful and will bring blessing.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

"LIVE TO GLORIFY GOD "

Editor's Critical Eye

2 Corinthians 5:18; "And all things are of God,  who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. "

As a born again Christian,  you are commissioned to preach the Gospel and to take the message of Christ's salvation to your world. But your actions and the way you live,  speak louder than your words when you witness for Christ.  When others see you, what would be their testimony of you pertaining to Christ?

Your life is the true message. What you preach and teach must be evident in your own life. It's hard to win someone to Christ if your life doesn't add up with what you preach. The impact of your message must first reflect in your personality. People should be able to see the results of your preaching. You must  digest the Word for yourself, understand it and do it. Become wholly yielded to the Word of God to help you lead a life of righteousness.

The real message you have is a revelation of what is inside you.

Invest in God's Word for personal development; build your life by the Word by taking your times of study and meditation. Your life is a message of the divine life of God's love, goodness, righteousness and true holiness.

You should be fully yielded to the Word to culture your life and character, giving you the right mindset.

Lessons to note

A pastor was struggling to prepare his sermon
and didn't want to be disturbed by his five
year old daughter, so he removed a map of the
world from his study, tore it into pieces and
gave it to his daughter to assemble with the
promise that he would answer all her questions
and play with her when she was done.

He knew she would never be able to fix it.

To his amazement, in less than five minutes, she returned to him in his study with the map in perfect shape, every continent and every
country in its place.

The surprised father asked, ''Honey, you don't
know anything about geography, so how did
you fix the world so easily and quickly?

The five year old girl smiled sweetly and
replied, ''The picture of JESUS was at the back
of the map and I knew that if I have JESUS in
the right place, the whole world would be in
perfect shape.''

That was just the right inspiration he needed
for his sermon.

He thanked his daughter and prepared a
powerful sermon on the subject - 'Fix your world
by placing JESUS at the right place'
Just place JESUS in his rightful place and your
life will be in order.

Do you really understand this?

Spread it to the world, let them know that THEIR WORLD CANNOT BE FIXED WITHOUT JESUS.

We all need Jesus!

I AM NO LONGER A VIRGIN....says 10- yr old girl

The family was at the dining table.

The little 10-year-old girl wasn't eating and had her nose in her plate…. After a few moments, she said, “I’have something to tell you people” Silence around the table.

“I’m no longer a virgin”, and she begins to cry.

A long silence again.

And then, the father angrily and screamed at his wife, “It’s your fault! Always dressed and make up like a prostitute! Do you think you are setting a good example for your daughter? You see now? That’s how problems arrive”.

The wife, in turn yelled at her husband: “What about you? Are you setting a good example?
Wasting your salary on sluts who sometimes even accompany you to your doorstep! Are you setting a good example for your 10-year-old daughter?”.

The father continued
“And her elder sister, that good for nothing, With her rasta man of a boyfriend, Who is always found with her in all the hotels. Do you believe she is setting a good example for her younger sister?”

And the recriminations went on and on and on
….
The grandmother touches the shoulder of the little grand daughter to console her And asks her : “Well, my little girl, how did it happen?”
And the little girl replies while stifling her sobs:.

"It’s the priest”

The grandmother asked:
“What do you mean, by ''it is the priest ?”

The little girl said: “The priest has chosen another girl to be Virgin Mary in the Christmas play.  I’m no longer playing the role of Virgin Mary again.

Lesson Learnt
The price of impatience!!!!

Even you the reader was much in a hurry to conclude and blame the priest before the story ends.

Its natural to be shocked at the beginning. But learn to listen to the whole story before you react.
Only then can you solve the issues thrown up by the story!

SPIRITUAL FOOD

‘‘Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat the roll. And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee.

Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.’’ (Ezekiel 3:1-3)
We don’t live to eat but we eat to live, we eat for strength.

However, what actually do we eat?

In the last part of Ezekiel 3:3, Ezekiel says, “Then did I eat it and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.” But before he ate the book, in Ezekiel 3:1, God had commanded him:

“Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the House of Israel.”

Ezekiel had not the strength to go and speak to the Nation of Israel before he ate the book, but after he had eaten it, the book gave him the strength and the capacity to carry out his mission.

You will not face any problem that will defeat you, wherever it may come from.

It is clear that we are supposed to eat the Word of God. You cannot build the capacity and garner the strength you need for life’s battles without the Word of God.

It is the quality and quantity of God’s Word in you that strengthens you to confront and overcome your problems.

Remember, you will not overcome just once. You will overcome always because you have been prepared.

The Word of God that you have eaten will give you the strength and the capacity to confront your confronters, spoil your spoilers, and defeat your oppositions.

Words of Wisdom: The word of God gives strength and capacity to carry on with life challenges.

Prayer/Confession: I declare that because of the capacity and the strength in the Word of God, I will not be stranded in life, in the name of Jesus’. Amen!

Easter Prayer

Lord, thank you for loving us more than life itself.

God, life is hard and uncertain. We are surrounded by   pain, hurt, and heartache...

... And yet, knowing this, You still willingly gave up your life and became God with us and God who rescues us.

Thank you.
Because of Your sacrifice, we can spend eternity with You. There is no pain You cannot conquer, no hurt You cannot heal, and no life You cannot transform.

Your death and resurrection proved that nothing is impossible for You, and that we are more than conquerors because of You.

Today and every day, help us to fix our hearts and our minds on You. And as we do, please give us more of Your joy, hope, and peace. We love You, and we want to worship You.

"ACCEPT CORRECTION WHEN YOU ARE WRONG"

2 Timothy 3:16; "All scripture is given by inspiration of God,  and is profitable for doctrine,  for reproof,  for correction,  for instruction in righteousness.

Some people grow up in homes where it is wrong to apply discipline or chastise them, not even their parents. That explains why even after someone gives their heart to Christ, they still find it hard to accept correction in the house of God. This is not right for a Christian. God's Word is profitable for doctrine, rebuke, correction and instruction in righteousness.

You must learn to accept correction in the house of God. Because that's one way  the Holy Spirit, through the Word, helps you develop Godly character.

You should be humble and pay attention to your leaders as they instruct you in the Word of God. There are many things that people learn in their natural lives before they come to Christ; things that are not of the Christ nature.

They are not put away by salvation. Which is why you must renew your mind through meditation on God's Word.

Ephesians 4:31; "Let all bitterness,  and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking,  be put away from you, with all malice. "

You must yield to the Word to mold your character to be more like Christ.  Refuse to let your senses control you. Don't be prideful when someone corrects you with the Word.

Accepting rebuke and correction shows humility and your greatness. Truly great people are humble. God's Word is profitable to you.

"USE YOUR TONGUE CORRECTLY "

Proverbs 18:21; "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. "

Words are very important; they are everything.

Every time you speak, you shape your life and future; you chart your destiny.  You are the product of your words
So it is your responsibility to  use your words for a brother future. Don't speak negatively and promote the problem, declare your victories. Have the right words in your mouth.

Remember the Shunammite woman. Her son died, but she did not scream for help or complain, she went to the Prophet Elisha saying, "It is well."

She went with the right confession and received a miracle.  She didn't speak about the situation,  she spoke in agreement with God
(2 Kings 4:8-36). Isaiah 3:10; "Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Jesus said in Mark 11:23 that you shall have what you say.

The Shunammite woman said it was well and her confession produced results. Meditate on the Word to help you to have the right mindset
Because before you can speak right,  you must first think right. God's Word renews your mind and produces faith in your heart.

Colossians 3:16 says to let the Word dwell in you richly ; let it gain control in you and out of that abundance you will speak.

Matthew 12:34; "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

God has already ordained your triumphant, victorious,  prosperous and successful life.

 You must respond by affirming the same things in consent. Hebrews 13:5-6;
5. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said,I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.

 6. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Affirm and acknowledge that you have a wonderful life and that you are living the life of righteousness, dominion and glory in Christ Jesus. You speak wisdom,  but not the wisdom of this world,  but divine wisdom.  It should be heard in your words and seen in your actions.

As you affirm the Word, it catapults you to a greater and brighter future with higher levels of success,  victory and prosperity.
              Hallelujah!!!

PSL Season Preparations Remain On Hold. ..

Pre-season preparations could remain on hold after the end of the current 21-day national President Emmerson Mnangagwa claimed that they will decide whether or not to extend the 21-day national lockdown.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign was supposed to start at the end of March but all sporting activities and other public gatherings in the country were suspended until further notice following the outbreak of coronavirus.

Clubs continued with their pre-season preparations, but after the imposition of the lockdown, all activities were put on hold.

And latest claims by the president have further put doubt if the preparations will resume after the end of the lockdown.

Speaking after touring the city, assessing the current situation on the ground, Mnangagwa said: “I wouldn’t want to prejudge our decision.

“We are going to review the situation. If we think that it is containable, we may go back because it has its socio-economic impact.”

Should the crisis end in near future, the League is likely to give clubs some time to wrap up their preparations before the season starts, thereby causing another delay.-Soccer 24

Zim Coronavirus Positive Cases Rise To Eight

The number of people who have tested positive for Coronavirus has risen to eight, according to the Ministry of Health and Childcare.

"COVID-19 Update: As at 31 March Zimbabwe had 8 confirmed cases, including one (1) death," the Ministry said in a brief statement.

However, there are reports that government is concealing information on the deadly pandemic.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the figures that have been released by the Health Ministry do not reflect what is happening on the ground.

1, 600 Prisoners Released Under Presidential Amnesty

At least 1 680 prisoners were yesterday released from prisons countrywide under the presidential amnesty.

Beneficiaries of the amnesty comprised 53 women and 1 627 men.

Some women failed to qualify for amnesty after it turned out they were serving jail terms for specified offences like murder, robbery, car-jacking, sexual offences and public violence.

The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) had initially recommended the release of 5 000 prisoners to reduce the prison population to 16 838, but most inmates failed the test.

Speaking during the release of the pardoned prisoners in Harare yesterday, ZPCS national public relations officer Superintendent Meya Khanyezi said the de-congestion of prisons was important, particularly in the wake of Covid-19.

“Today we released 1 680 prisoners nationwide, who qualified for release under the Presidential Amnesty,” she said.

“We welcome this measure as it is going to de-congest our prisons, especially in the wake of Covid-19.”

Supt Khanyezi urged the public to accommodate those released and assist in their reintegration into society.

“We plead with the public, particularly their relatives, to accept them,” she said.

“This will help their reintegration process. Most of the released prisoners find their way back to prison in no time because they would have not been accepted into the society.”

Supt Khanyezi said the released prisoners were given bus fare and travelling documents to enable them to reach their respective destinations.

“We gave them bus fare and each was given a pass which will make it easy for them to reach their destinations during this lockdown,” she said.

“We also have educated them on measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.”- State media

Can Coronavirus Be Transmitted Through The Air?

People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus.

The disease can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth which are spread when a person with COVID-19 coughs or exhales.

These droplets land on objects and surfaces around the person.

Other people then catch COVID-19 by touching these objects or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth.

People can also catch COVID-19 if they breathe in droplets from a person with COVID-19 who coughs out or exhales droplets.

This is why it is important to stay more than 1 meter (3 feet) away from a person who is sick.

WHO is assessing ongoing research on the ways COVID-19 is spread and will continue to share updated findings.

Can the virus that causes COVID-19 be transmitted through the air?

Studies to date suggest that the virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through contact with respiratory droplets rather than through the air.

Can COVID-19 be caught from a person who has no symptoms?

The main way the disease spreads is through respiratory droplets expelled by someone who is coughing. The risk of catching COVID-19 from someone with no symptoms at all is very low. However, many people with COVID-19 experience only mild symptoms.

This is particularly true at the early stages of the disease. It is therefore possible to catch COVID.

Don't focus on negative aspects

“No discimpline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

Hebrews 12:11, NIV

TODAY'S WORD:
It can feel good to give into the temptation to watch something you shouldn’t, to gossip about a friend, to be lazy, to tell someone off. The flesh likes the easy way. The reason some people don’t grow is because they’re not disciplined to do the right thing when it’s hard.

You have to be consistent. The flesh is not going to go away. The apostle Paul said, “I die daily.” Every day we have to say no to things. “No, I’m not going to watch that. I won’t be sarcastic. I’m not going to hang out with that friend. I’m not going to eat whatever I feel like.”

Remember that every time you give into that temptation, become impatient, or get offended, you’re feeding and growing the flesh. If you’ll start to not give in to the temptation, the temper, the bad attitude, you’re going to step into a new season of freedom, of growth, of favor.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You that You are working in me and giving me the desire to obey You.

Thank You that I have the power to overcome and be disciplined to do the right thing. I believe that the forces for me are greater than the forces against me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
