WISDOM PERSPECTIVES

_The Fact  of  Righteousness And Evil_

 *Proverbs 29:7(KJV)*

_The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it_ .

Righteous people are considerate people who have other people at heart.  Evil people are selfish and inconsiderate to human plight.

It is in the nature of righteous people to do good through obedience to God's word in as much as it is in the nature of the wicked to do evil through disobedience to God's Word. Like begets like is the law of the game.

The righteous do not do good to become righteous but they do good because they are righteous.

In the opposite direction of nature it could be equally said that the wicked are not wicked because the do evil things,  but rather they do evil things because they are wicked.  It is a matter of nature and not mere action.

Wickedness or righteousness is not a product of a mere  act but a matter of nature that brings about either wicked  or righteous acts depending on  what  nature manifests.

It is nature that informs or determines either righteous or evils acts.

Nevertheless,  the righteous can be tempted to sin like Adam was  though he had no sinfull nature in him.

In the garden of Eden was a tree of two natures,  namely good and evil.  It took temptation for Adam to succumb to evil nature though  Adam had no evil nature in him.

Romans 12:2  warns believers not to be conformed to the world but rather to be transformed by the renewal of their minds.

Though born again our minds are still open to worldly influences and it is our responsibility to refuse to be influenced negatively by the world we live in or we will sin.

Apostle Paul speaks of pulling down imaginations that seeks to rise above the knowledge of God and bring it into subjection under Christ.

 *2 Corinthians 10:3-5(KJV)*

_For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:_

( _For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)_

 _Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ_;

The word of God is a strong weapon against evil influence and it seeks to  challenge inner thoughts  of  human  mind and confronts   one's way of thinking.

 *Hebrews 4:12(KJV)*

_For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart._

The word of God has the power and ability to  diagnose  and analyze hidden  intents and inner motives.  It cross-examines thoughts and motives and lay them open before God.

Without the challenge of God's word the human heart or thoughts can be  desperately wicked.

 *Jeremiah 17:9-10(KJV)*

_The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?_

_I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings._

It takes temptation for the righteous to succumb to sin.

Satan uses appealing ideas and views to lure rightoues people into temptation and sin.  He does not tempt the wicked but the righteous as Adam was.

Satan came to Eve in the Garden of Eden and suggested a second view that did not characterise the tree of the knowledge of good and evil as bad but good to make one as wise as God.

The moment Eve entertained that view she began to see the tree differently from what God had described it to be before (Gen.  2:16).

 *Genesis 3:6(KJV)*

_And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat._

Though ennocent and without evil nature,  Eve succumbed to sin or evil through temptation.

 *James 1:12-15(KJV)*

_Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him._

_Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:_

_But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed._

_Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death._

There is not need for temptation where there are no righteous people.  It is only the righteoues that can be tempted. The wicked can not be tempted.

Nevertheless,  The righteous can overcome temptation if they choose to obey God's Word.

Evil nature does not take heed to God's voice or Word as Cain did.

 *Genesis 4:7(KJV)*

_If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him_ .

Cain killed his brother Abel immediately after God had spoken to him and had persuaded Cain to do what was good.

It is when you refuse to obey  the Word of God  that sin will have an upper hand of you.

We overcome temptation to sin through obedience to God's word.

The only escape route from sin is God's word.  Sin is transgression of (ignoring) God's word.

 *1 Corinthians 10:13(KJV)*

_There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it._

If you ignore God's Word you will miss God's way to overcome temptation.

 *Revelation 12:11(KJV)*

_And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death._

Those who obey the Word if God will overcome temptation and evil.
